Koppee Koh Tao Bar & Restaurant sits right on Chalok Baan Kao Bay, on the southern tip of Koh Tao, next to New Heaven Dive School. Open since 1996, it’s a family-owned venue with a tropical feel, beachside and poolside seating, and views across the bay toward Shark Island.
The menu runs from 9am to 10pm and covers the full day – breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner – with a mix of Southern Thai, Mediterranean, Western and international dishes. The kitchen is known for its salad bowls, fish tacos, pasta, club sandwiches and homemade ice cream and brownies. Coffee is a serious affair here, with proper espresso at the core of the menu and an espresso martini that draws regulars back. Happy hour runs daily from 5 to 7pm.
Chalok Baan Kao is quieter than Sairee Beach, and Koppee is one of the main reasons people make their way to the southern side of the island. The atmosphere is relaxed, with bean bags on the beach, a pool for diners, and a crowd that tends to arrive for lunch and stay through sunset.
